These terms apply when you enquire about or take a website plan from Arlo Designs. Please read them before you get started. If anything is unclear, email contact@arlodesigns.co.uk.
Who we are
Arlo Designs is a trading name of Arlo Designs and Marketing Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16811642). Registered office: Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” means Arlo Designs and Marketing Ltd. “You” means the business or person buying a website plan or additional services.
Website plans
We provide professionally designed, hosted and maintained websites on a monthly subscription. You are buying a managed website service, not website hosting on its own.
Our current plans are:
- Starter: £75 per month, setup £0, up to 5 pages, no minimum term
- Growth: £100 per month, setup £200, up to 8 pages, 12-month minimum term
- Premium: £150 per month, setup £500, up to 12 pages, 12-month minimum term
The full list of inclusions is shown on our pricing section. We will confirm your plan, setup fee and start date in writing before work begins.
Contract length
Starter has no minimum term. It runs month to month. You can cancel at any time by giving 30 days’ written notice. You are only responsible for fees up to the end date we confirm.
Growth and Premium have a 12-month minimum term, starting on the date we confirm your order or the date the first payment is taken, whichever we agree in writing.
During that minimum term you are responsible for the monthly fee for the full 12 months. After 12 months, the plan continues month to month until you cancel.
If you want to cancel a Growth or Premium plan during the minimum term, the remaining monthly fees for that term remain payable unless we agree otherwise in writing. We may, at our discretion, agree a different arrangement in exceptional circumstances.
Setup fees and what they cover
Starter has no setup fee. Growth has a £200 setup fee. Premium has a £500 setup fee. Setup fees are one-off charges for the initial design and build work and are payable as agreed before we start. Setup fees are not refundable once design work has started, unless we cancel the project.
What is included
Unless we agree something different in writing, your plan includes:
- A professional responsive website up to the page limit for your plan
- Hosting and SSL
- Domain connection (the domain itself is charged separately if we supply it)
- The SEO setup listed for your plan
- The revision rounds listed for your plan
- Technical maintenance
- The included content updates listed for your plan, if any
Email hosting is included on Growth and Premium. On Starter it is available for an extra £5 per month, per mailbox as listed on our pricing.
“Light content updates” means small text or image changes to existing pages. They do not include new pages, new sections, new functionality or a redesign.
What is not included
Unless listed in your plan or agreed in writing, the following are extra:
- Additional pages: £75 each
- Small content updates beyond your allowance: £25, or the plan rate shown on pricing
- Additional image replacement: £15
- New section or component: £40
- Additional revision round: £50
- Additional email mailbox: £5 per month
- Domain registration or renewal: at cost, from £10 per year
- New functionality or a major redesign: quoted before we start
- Google Ads management, copywriting beyond agreed pages, photography, or print work
Payment
Monthly fees are payable in advance. Setup fees are payable as agreed before the build starts. We will confirm the payment method when you get started.
If a payment fails, we will contact you to put it right. If a payment remains overdue, we may pause work, suspend hosting, or remove the website until the account is up to date. You remain responsible for fees that have already fallen due.
Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We are not VAT registered, so VAT is not added to invoices.
Your responsibilities
To keep the project moving, you agree to:
- Give us the content, images and feedback we need in a reasonable time
- Make sure you have the right to use any text, images or logos you send us
- Review drafts and use the revision rounds included in your plan
- Keep login details for third-party accounts secure if we need access
If we cannot complete the website because we are waiting on you, the monthly term and fees still apply from the agreed start date unless we agree a pause in writing.
Revisions
Revision rounds are for reasonable changes to the agreed design and content. They are not a free redesign or a change to the scope of the plan. Extra rounds are charged at £50 unless we quote a different amount.
SEO and results
We set up on-page SEO and, on some plans, local SEO and Google Business Profile integration. That helps search engines understand your site. It does not guarantee rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales. Search results depend on many things outside our control.
Intellectual property
You keep ownership of your logo, brand assets and the content you supply. Once all fees due for the initial build have been paid, you can use the finished website for your business. We keep ownership of our tools, internal files and unused concepts.
We may show the website in our portfolio and marketing unless you ask us not to in writing.
How to cancel
Email contact@arlodesigns.co.uk with 30 days’ written notice. On Starter you can do this at any time. On Growth and Premium you can do this after the 12-month minimum term, or earlier if the remaining fees are settled as set out above.
We will confirm the end date and, if you want to keep the website, discuss handing over files or moving hosting. Handover work may be charged if it is more than a simple domain change.
Our liability
We will take reasonable care with your website and the personal data you give us. We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for third-party services (for example domain registrars, email providers or advertising platforms) that fail or change their terms.
Our total liability for a claim relating to a plan is limited to the fees you have paid us for that plan in the 12 months before the claim, except where the law does not allow us to limit liability (for example death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be on this page. If a change affects an existing plan in a material way, we will tell you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may bring a claim in your local courts if we need to recover unpaid fees.
